Day 01 / Monday / Arrival Delhi
Arrive Delhi, Meet assist at the airport & transfer to hotel. Night stay in Delhi.

Day 02 / Tuesday / Delhi
After a relaxed breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi :
OLD DELHI - A sight-seeing tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting the Raj Ghat - the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated; Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India and the Red Fort once the most opulent fort and palace of the Moghul Empire. Enjoy the cycle rickshaw ride from Jama Masjid to Chandni Chowk.
NEW DELHI - An extensive sight-seeing tour of New Delhi would include a visit to the Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, the President's Residence, Lotus Temple and would end with a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave.

Day 03 / Wednesday ( On board Palace on Wheels Reporting Time 1600 hrs. Dep. 1830 hrs)
Morning at leisure , Afternoon transfer to railway station to board the superfast luxurious airconditioned train from where the journey of a lifetime begins at the Delhi Cantonment station where the guests are accorded a warm, traditional welcome before the Palace on Wheels pulls out into the night ... for a week-long Luxury cruise through fascinating Rajasthan .

Day 04 /Thursday / Jaipr ( Palace on Wheels Arr 0200 hrs. Dep 1930 hrs)
The first stop of Palace on Wheels is Jaipur, one of the most well planned cities of the world of its time. This capital city of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Pink City, was founded by Maharaja Swai Jai Singh II, in1727 A.D.
To explore the city, an air-conditioned coach takes you to Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which is a remarkable five storeyed building along the main street of the old city in pink splendor with semi-octagonal and delicate honey combed sandstone windows. This is followed by a visit to Amber Fort, eight kms. away, where rides on caparisoned elephants add to the ambiance. Shop for Jaipur’s famous jewellery, handicrafts, carpets blue pottery and textiles. Near Ajmeri Gate is located Rajasthali - the only Rajasthan Govt. Emporium selling genuine handicrafts at fixed prices.
After lunch at a Palace Hotel, you are off to the City Palace, home of the erstwhile royal family. Right across the road from the City Palace is the Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory built by the Sawai Jai Singh II. The Luxury coaches will take you back to Palace on Wheels around 6.30 pm. Dinner on Board

Day 05 / Friday / Jaisalmer ( Palace on Wheels Arr 0815 hrs. Dep 2300 hrs)
In the heart of the Thar Desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156A.D. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Discover the painstakingly latticed havelis or mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver’s skill.
Shop at Rajasthali-the only Rajasthan Govt. emporium, for fine pattu shawls, mirror work & embroidered articles, wooden boxes, trinkets, silver jewellery and curios. After lunch on board, go for an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam, before sipping a refreshing cup of teaEnjoy the dinner and the cultural programmes at a hotel in Jaisalmer. The train leaves for Jodhpur at night.

Day 06 / Saturday / Jodhpur ( Palace on Wheels Arr 0700 hrs. Dep1530 hrs)
Next morning the Palace on wheels is in Jodhpur, a city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within- Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive examples of architectural excellence. Near the fort complex lies Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble. After lunch at a royal Palace hotel, return to the Palace on Wheels. While in Jodhpur shop for the exquisite handcrafted articles including the famous breeches, embroidered shoes, metal curios, silverware, paintings and tie and dye fabrics

Day 07 / Sunday /Sawai Madhopur ( Palace on Wheels Arr 0400 hrs. Dep 1030 hrs )
One can almost sense a life of the wilderness, as the Palace on Wheels arrives in Sawai Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. After breakfast a visit is arranged to the Ranthambhor National Park, wherein are located the ruins of a 10th century fort. This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be the country’s best for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger. The park, covering an area of 392 sq.kms. is home to more than 300 species of birds. The tiger, hyena, ratel, jackal and fox are among those constituting the carnivorous population here. Sawai Madhopur is known for its exclusive toys, ethnic ornaments and costumes. Later say good bye to Palace on Wheels & proceed by chauffeur driver car to the City of Tajmahal-Agra . Arrive Agra & transfer to the luxurious Oberoi AMAR VILAS- the only hotel with direct, uninterrupted views of the Taj Mahal. The hotel lies just 600 metres from what is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world .Night stay in Agra.

Day 08 / Monday /Agra-Varanasi ( By flight Dep 1320 hrs Arr 1510 hrs )
Morning at sunrise visit the magnificent Tajmahal - one of the seven wonders of the world surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years tobuild this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife Also visit the Agra fort - the rusty and majestic red-sandstone fort of Agra stands on the banks of the river Yamuna and the construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Am (hall of public audience),a colonnaded hall of red-sandstone with a throne alcove of inlaid marble at the back, the Emperor heard public petitions.At the Diwan-I-Khas (hall of private audience) where marble pavilions with floral inlayslend an ethereal ambience, the Emperor sat on his gem-studded Peacock Throne and met foreign ambassadors and rulers of friendly kingdoms . Later transfer to airport to board the flight to Varanasi - said to be the India’s most sacred city situated on the western bank of the holy river Ganga. It is also the oldest livingcity in the world. As a place for devotion and worship, with hundreds of temples dotting the city , sunrise on the river front as seen from a boat can be a spiritually uplifting sight. It has a fascinationuniquely its own,a quality of sublime beauty, a timeless eternal appeal.Varanasi is the city which cannot be described, only experienced.Arrive Varanasi and transfer to hotel. Later embark on a half day sightseeing tour of varanasi visiting the temples and in the evening view “Aarti” ceremony on the Ghats.Night stay in Varanasi.

Day 09 / Tuesday / Varanasi-Delhi ( By flight Dep 1600 hrs Arr 1715 hrs)
Morning boat cruise at the river Ganges to observe the way of life of pilgrims by the Ghats. Later excursion to Sarnath, 10kms. East of Varanasi, is one of the Buddhism’s major centers of India. After attaining enlightenment, the Buddha came to Sarnath where he gave his first sermon. Visit the deer park and the museum and later transfer to airport to board the flight to Delhi.
